Shashi Tharoor

In 2006, after more than 25 years of distinguished service in the United Nations, Shashi Tharoor, India’s candidate to succeed Secretary-General Kofi Annan, finished a close second to Ban Ki-moon. Now in the private sector, Shashi sits down for a candid conversation with the Rev. Dr. Joan Brown Campbell, Chautauqua’s Director of Religion. He talks about what he views as the strengths and weaknesses of the U.N. and its singular ability to deliver meaningful humanitarian aid. He also talks about the situation in Iraq and the state of U.S. credibility around the world.

Host> The Rev. Dr. Joan Brown Campbell, director, Department of Religion
